The set includes a pair of silver-plated Border Collie cufflinks for him and a matching Border Collie dog tag for his dog. What should I engrave on the dog tag?

Under the Control of Dogs Order 1992, dogs in a public place in the UK must wear identification showing the owner's name and address, including postcode. A telephone number isn't legally required, but we strongly recommend including one to help ensure a quick reunion should your dog ever go missing.

For the clearest engraving, we recommend placing your telephone number on one of the middle two lines, as the text on the top and bottom lines will be slightly smaller.
