Our dear Queen has bestowed Royal borough status to Greenwich. We will become the fourth Royal Borough on 3 February 2012.
The Royal status has been awarded due to Greenwich's historic links with the Royal Family and its status as home of the Prime Meridian, GMT and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And surely because it's clearly the best borough in London...
